Privacy Policy

Quietscreen does not collect, store, or transmit any personal data.

• No network connections. There is no networking code in the app, so neither your settings nor how you use it leave the Mac it is installed on.
• Local data only. Quietscreen stores the backdrop you chose and whether the Desktop and the menu bar are hidden in this Mac’s UserDefaults and nowhere else. Whether it opens at login is registered with macOS Login Items.
• Desktop files. Quietscreen neither reads nor moves the files on your Desktop, and does not change Finder’s settings. It only places a window showing the backdrop over the Desktop.
• Mac wallpapers. To offer them as backdrops, Quietscreen reads the wallpaper images that come with your Mac, and only to read them. It does not read the file of the wallpaper you have set.
• Pointer position. While the menu bar is hidden, Quietscreen looks at the pointer position only to decide whether to show the menu bar. It is neither stored nor transmitted.
• No analytics, no tracking, no accounts. Quietscreen contains no analytics SDKs, crash reporters, or third-party services, and never asks you to create an account.
• Permissions. Quietscreen does not ask for Accessibility, Input Monitoring, Screen Recording, or any other permission.
